Architale by Federico Babina Brings Fairytale in Architecture Illustrations

Federico Babina, an architect and illustrator based in the City of Barcelona, produces unusual illustrations, which bring forward the architecture as a protagonist, instead of a background.

Federico, who was born an Italian in 1969 claimed himself as a very thirsty man of knowledge and always wanted to seek out information. Every day, Federico tries to find a way to observe this world through sight and vision like a child.

According to him, children have unlimited thoughts and point of views. Hence, they are able to draw spontaneously simple but still beautiful.

Federico likes to show other people what he sees through different expressions and techniques.

“I love the richness and diversity of various design forms. I also do not want to be limited by having only one style or one design,” said Federico.

Architale is a series of illustrations created as a tribute to fairytale world, where architectures are being reshaped to accommodate children’s unlimited imagination, with the buildings become main characters of the story.

An artwork should be able to photograph the thoughts, feelings and emotions of the illustration itself. Each illustration must be able to tell a story and be the witness of the story itself.

There are strong impressions and characters in humanity in the work of Federico Babina.

Federico has also created some illustrations representing architectural space in several famous films.
