The 90-year-old Anežka Kašpárková is a former agricultural worker from Louka, a village in Hodonín District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. She retired 30 years ago and began to turn her dream of becoming an artist.
She started by taking drawing lessons from an elderly artist in the country before experimenting with her skill.
She is known for painting flowers and recurring motifs inspired by the traditional Moravian (Southern Czech) pattern. She likes the ultramarine blue for its impressive look. The color is vibrant and bright, which works well in contrast with the white walls of the houses in the neighbourhood.
To make her works last for at least two years, Kasparkova only uses good quality paint.
One of Kasparkova’s most recognised project is the chapel, which she still works on.
Despite being viral locally and globally through the internet, Kasparkova said that she is an artist and all her works are purely for pleasure. She enjoys decorating the world a bit.
