I have shown you how to use emoji and emoticons in Mac OS before at: How to Use Emoji or Emoticons On Macbook and iMac. Now, I’d like to show you how to pull out and use the emoji keyboard in Windows 10.
Originating in Japan, emoji has been around since the late 90s. That’s when the messaging app began to be our daily lifestyle. In recent years, emoji has became very popular everywhere. It is used by everybody, especially when chatting with smartphone.
Windows 10 has built-in support for emoji. Now you can simply click on the expression you’d like to the one you talk to in chat box and messenger. There’re various emoticons to choose from, from smiley face, people, food, animal, etc. Surprisingly, a middle finger emoticon is there too. Don’t use this too often though.
So, to make thing short, here is how to use emoji on Windows 10 PC:
- Place your cursor on the taskbar, right click on it and select the “Show touch keyboard button”. This will place a new keyboard icon on your system tray.
- Place your cursor in the text field where you want to put the emoticon.
- Click on the new icon in system tray and a keyboard will appear on screen.
- Click the emoticon you’d like to use.
Sending someone a happy or annoying expression is possible now. Get using them in your Windows 10 PC or laptop and have a good fun in communicating with people.
