T: Hello Natalie. Where are you from?
N: I am from Dublin, Ireland.
T: Who do you admire the most in this life?
N: Artist Frida Khalo
T: How do you describe yourself?
N: I am an artist, I draw, I do body paint, facepaint, and used to tattoo but my true passion and love is to teach and help others grow.
T: Please tell us a bit of your story to get into this make up artist thing?
N: I actually started to paint myself because I couldn’t find a job, I went for a lot of interviews and was starting to give up. I had face paints at home and started to paint myself as characters. A few months later I was going viral around the world in newspapers which was so crazy but showed me everything happens for a reason.
T: As we know, you always use fictional character and Disney villains as make-up idea, which character do you like most?
N: I think my favourite make up was my Beauty and The Beast as I found it the most challenging as I had to teach myself to create the look of texture.
T: How do you create your artworks?
N: I usually start with a base colour and build up colour slowly. Many people ask me how I get such a viberancy in colour with cheaper paints but all my looks take a long time to build up colour, highlight and shade with an average of about 2-5 hours.
T: Let’s take one example of your half jasmine and half tiger makeup, how long did it takes? Which make-up tool you need the most and running out first to create such artwork?
N: I use mostly snazaroo face paints which are the average affordable facepaints and round sponges. For the Disney princess side of things I always use a full coverage foundation (all nighters urban decay) and a concealer (naked skin concealer urban decay) for that flawless Disney princess skin.
T: Do you have any tips and tricks to share for fellow MUA?
N: My main tip I give to people is to practice as much as possible. It’s hard work but you will see serious results and progress really quickly.
T: How do you pamper yourself? Dig into exquisite dessert? Relax on spa?
N: I love to watch horror films and paint on canvas in my spare time and always look after my skin with hydration masks as character make up can be super harsh on my skin.
T: Do you have any any short video of make up tutorial on Youtube?
N: I haven’t got any tutorial videos just yet but am in the progress of it at the moment so will be up and running in the coming months 🙂
