If you are a comic lover, you don’t want to miss these graphic novels by Lucy Bellwood. The comics are simply attractive, full of humor, equipped with knowledge, and visualized in beautiful illustrations.
Lucy Bellwood is a tall ship sailor and cartoonist living in Portland, Oregon. Since 2007 she has crewed aboard a wide variety of traditional sailing vessels on both coasts of the United States.
Her comics often deal with life at sea, maritime history, nautical terminology, and modern oceanic issues relating to shipping and science.
Her debut graphic novel, Baggywrinkles: A Lubber’s Guide to Life at Sea, draws from her time aboard the tall ship Lady Washington to provide readers with a playful and engaging look at life on an 18th-century replica ship.
