Her works are a heady mix of pop culture with imagery based on the theme of each work, that includes humanity, feminity, sexuality and the beauty of life. They had been completed using the combination of hand painting, silk screening and stenciling.

The style of her artworks are known to have strong theme and characteristic with bold outline.

Other than Los Angeles, Miami, Brooklyn and New York City, the art of Lady Aiko can be enjoyed in many cities around the world.

Lady Aiko, who was born Aiko Nakagawa in Tokyo, Japan had moved to New York City since 1990.

Her career began when working for Takashi Murakami in Brooklyn by the end of 1990s. Lady Aiko was in charged of directing the digital biography of the artist (“Superflat” 1998).

After completing his MFA Media Studies from The New School University, she met two American artists, which later formed a group named FAILE together.

After a number of years, she moved on to create his own studio, which she established herself as Lady Aiko on year 2006.

Lady Aiko continues to work in both in studio and public spaces. Beside the US, her contemporary artworks can also be viewed in Japan, India, South Africa, Germany, China and UK.

She also joint and involved in big number of world class exhibitions, solo or group, in China, The Netherlands, Germany, Japan, UK, Italy, HongKong, Spain, Norway and France.

Lady Aiko has been recognized and well-respected within the international graffiti and street art scene.

Her large scale artworks are installed at Miami’s Wynwood Walls in 2009, New York City’s Bowery Wall in 2013, and Coney Art Walls in 2015. All three artworks are curated by Jeffrey Deitch.

Though she suffered a broken ankle, high fever and diarrhea caused by food poisoning while completing an outdoor mural in New Delhi, India, she was happy to mark a positive energy to the society through her artwork.

“India needs power for women and children,” she said.

Aside from her daily work, she was frequently invited as a guest lecturer in many institutions, including Brooklyn Museum, Kyoto Zokei University, School of Visual Art in New York, and NUART Festival in Stavanger-Norwegia, and many more.

Lady Aiko was also invited to share her thoughts and experiences in various discussion such as POW WOW in Hawaii, Street Science in The Netherlands and Hello Kitty Con at Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles.
