Here’s The Plan tells a wonderful story about Kat and Doug, a married cat-dog couple who love to bake cupcakes. They dream of opening a bakery shop of their own. But things don’t turn out smooth, their oven breaks down and in order to get a new oven, they have to find jobs. After a while, their life gets better but they are slowly drifting apart from their dream and from themselves.
Here’s The Plan is an 18-minute CG animated short film from Chile. It was written, directed and produced by Fernanda Frick and funded by the National Council of Culture and Arts.
The team includes 32 young artists, mostly from Chile and took almost two years to complete.
Here’s The Plan had it’s World Premiere at Nashville International Film Festival, it’s national premiere at Festival Chilemonos 2017 and online premiere through CartoonBrew Fest in October 2017.
Since then, the short film has been selected in various film festivals around the world and has received numbers of prestigious awards.

The Chilean artist, Fernanda Frick is a writer, director, and producer based in Santiago. She has begun creating animation using Flash since she was 13.
After graduating from the Character Animation program at Animation Mentor in 2013, her love for animation spread towards other areas like illustration and comics. However, her main interests are creating and bringing characters to life in an appealing way through animation.
In 2014, she participated in the Gobelins Summer School in France, thanks to a scholarship given by the Chilean government’s audiovisual fund. Fernanda also has a diploma in figure drawing from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and another one in Maya FX from the MAC Academy.
Here’s The Plan is the 4th animation film produced by Fernanda Frick.
According to Fernanda,
I made “Here’s the plan” because I felt the need to see on screen a couple depicted as a team. Partners and not rivals. Equals and with value, not one superior to the other. Helping each other to be the best persons they can be.
