How to Fix Your Wet iPhone

You must be here for a reason. Either you’ve dropped your iPhone in a water or probably you were caught in the rain with an iPhone in your pocket.

Whatever it is, you are looking for one or two ways to fix it. Drain your iPhone and make it work again.

One of my fellas had happened to drop his iPhone in the water some times ago. The iPhone was unable to be turn on. It simply dead. He was panicked, and called me to ask if I know how to fix it.

So, I look around reading what have others tried to troubleshoot their wet iPhone. The key to fixing this problem are draining any moisture inside the device. If you happen to try using houseware that produce air to fix it, make sure to use warm air, not hot air.

And I would like to share these tips here. You might need to try these one at a time.

1. Use Hair Dryer

Turn on your hair dryer and shoot the air into the area that could reach the inside of your iPhone, such as the mic, speaker and charging port. Don’t use high or middle heat. Low heat of your hair dryer is enough.

2. The Rice Trick

Place rice in a container. FIll the container until there’s enough height to cover your whole iPhone inside it. Rice is known as absorbent. Usually it is used to absorb moisture from watch. One to two days are normally enough.

3. Silica Gel

If you can find silica gel, place them in a container. Place your iPhone in it. Silica gel absolutely works well in absorbing moisture. You can leave your phone inside for a day or two and try to turn it on again afterward.

Conclusion

In my friend’s case, his phone works with the rice trick after one day.

These troubleshooting tips can be applied for a water damaged iPad and other devices as well.
